MotoOption is super pumped to announce that we are now the official clothing for ATK motorcycles and their Factory Supermoto Raceteam. Check out their new press release:

ALL American Manufacturer ATK to contest the 2008 AMA Supermoto Championship Series with all New Team, and "New" models including a 700cc Two-Stroke!

March 14 2008:
In the world of two-wheeled motorsports in the United States, if you're a competitive professional racer, you're probably riding a bike made in Japan. Everyone is familiar with the big four, and when you think of each of the manufacturers, a color usually comes to mind.......Honda is Red, Yamaha/Blue, Suzuki/Yellow and Kawasaki has always been Green. Adding to the color scheme of the Japanese "big four" In the AMA Supermoto Championship series, there's the additional diversity with the inclusion of European manufacturers KTM, Husaberg and Husqvarna, but as in racing the world over, there has never been a presence of an American manufacturer. THAT will be changing in 2008 with the full time inclusion of the only off-road, "Made in the USA",  manufacturer, ATK. The RED, WHITE and BLUE color scheme will be added to the manufacturers mix in a big way to say the least!
Having been in the motorsports competition market for much longer than I, or most enthusiast are familiar with.....(over 25 years), ATK is bringing three models to the Supermoto fray, along with two very competent riders, to contest the 2008 AMA Supermoto Championship Series in both the 450 and Unlimited class.
With a racing history from Desert racing in the early 80's.....(Barstow to Vegas overall champ Chris Crandall in '84) to World MX Championships in '91/92 with Ty Davis, ATK is definitely NOT a newcomer to the racing scene. The ATK story has been one of constant technical development and innovation. The current three models that the team will be competing on will definitely NOT be confused with the competition for an array of reasons from looks to technical details.

450/Premier/ Rider Justin Ross:  The featured class of the AMA Supermoto series will be contested on a modified version of their 450MX model. Riding the 450 will be Northern California's own up and coming hotshoe, Justin Ross. The 450 is a fuel-injected, water-cooled four stroke. Ohlins Suspension front/rear, aluminum perimeter frame....modern technology developed from ATK's purchase of the issue laden Cannondale brand a few years ago which they have infused with immensely improved quality control and much improved design.
Unlimited/ Riders Monte Frank & Justin Ross: In the Unlimited class is where you may notice a little "different" look and sound from ATK. Along with youngster Ross, veteran racer, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma's, Monte Frank they are developing, and may be competing on two VERY different bikes. The first model is a slightly larger displacement version of the 450, a 500cc four-stroke......the "different" model, and what I think is a super cool project, is a 700cc TWO-STROKE!!  YESSS.........both Monte and Justin are currently testing all three bikes, and takin' a page out of old time racing with a totally modern spin on it with a BIG bore.......a REALLLLY BIG BORE Two-Stroke!!  If you've ever ridden a 500cc two-stroke, take that wild ride and add 200cc MORE power!  The "Intimidator" is the model name and rightfully so!! If this bike works well enough it'll be another great addition to the Unlimited class, much like the Aprilia's two-cylinder debut was last year.
The team will be debuting at March Kargers' Stateline Supermoto Challenge, just west of Las Vegas in Primm, Nevada, April 4/5, the weekend before the opening round of the AMA season in San Diego alongside the Moto-X world championships.
The ATK/USA race team is based out of Oklahoma with the Factory headquarters in Centerville, Utah.
Team Personnel includes: Team Manager Kurtis King, Chase Bales/Operations Manager, Roger Gladden/Manager of Race Development, Race Engineer/Richard Harrison. Justin Ross' Dad, Don Ross will be wrenching on his sons bikes with the aforementioned Mr.Harrison turning the wrenches for Monte Frank.
